Sophie Turner Designs Louis Vuitton Bracelet
Louis Vuitton for Unicef’s collaboration aims to raise awareness for children.
British actor Sophie Turner has joined Louis Vuitton’s #MakeAPromise campaign in collaboration with Unicef and designed a brand new Lockit bracelet. Since the partnership began in 2016, Louis Vuitton for Unicef has sold a range of different Lockit-style bracelets to raise money for vulnerable children worldwide who have their safety and wellbeing threatened when exposed to conflicts and natural disasters. So far, a total of $5 million has been raised for the cause.
The Games of Thrones star’s design is a red and white striped friendship bracelet decorated with a rabbit charm fastened together with a padlock. “I wanted my bracelet to hold luck for all the children whom the proceeds from this bracelet go to. So I wanted to integrate the idea of luck and also inclusion of many countries and cultures,” she explained when announcing her adaption on World Childrens Day to her 8.2 million Instagram followers. “Red is considered a lucky colour in China. And the white coincides with my idea for having the little circular charm on the bracelet, a rabbit… white rabbits are considered very lucky in the UK and a rabbit foot is considered lucky in many parts of Europe, China, Africa, North and South America.” Sophie then explained she also had the same rabbit tattooed on her arm.
