The Cliffs Pavilion is the leading theatre in Southend-on-Sea, consisting of three performance spaces across two very different venues in the largest town in Essex: The 1,630-capacity Cliffs Pavilion is a regular venue for touring West End musicals, top-name comedians, vocalists, opera and ballet plus hot-ticket stand-up rock concerts. The 600-seat, 100-year-old Palace Theatre with its Edwardian splendour hosts small-scale touring plays, live music, comedians and children’s shows; whilst the 100-seat Dixon Studio located in the Palace is a regular venue for performers staging intimate try-outs of new material, up-close children’s shows and a variety of community productions. The theatre during any given year has an excess of 400 performances across all three spaces meaning there’s usually something on at one of the venues every night!
In addition to the large range of live entertainment on offer at this theatre show in Southend-on-sea, the two venues offer very different facilities for conferencing and parties: Situated in a prime position on Southend's famous cliffs, the Cliffs Pavilion offers fantastic views across the Thames Estuary and is perfect for a wide range of special functions from a boardroom meeting for 10, a dinner dance for 600 or a conference for 1,630. The Cliffs Pavilion is also an ideal venue for weddings…whether it's an intimate gathering of family and friends with canapé and champagne in either the recently refurbished Maritime Room with its stunning Estuary views, right through to 600 or more guests for the Wedding Ceremony then sitting down for a 3-course dinner in the dramatic Cliffs Pavilion Main Auditorium - we will create a once in a lifetime experience for you.
