Grooming News – V76 Inspiration

After a successful UK launch last year, grooming brand V76 have gone from strength to strength, creating better and more sophisticated products for the growing grooming market. The US brand are now one of the most sort-after grooming brands in the world, working with some of the world’s greatest salons and building an A-list client base in New York, with the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Daniel Day Lewis, Bill Clinton and Al Pacino all favoring the high quality grooming products. Taking a modern approach to formulations, ingredients and performance, the V76 range captures every element of men’s grooming. Most recently, V76 inspired the hairstyle sported by Daniel Day Lewis (pictured) in the Oscar nominated film,Phantom Thread. Founder of grooming brand V76, Vaughn Acord calls this cut a “low Hollywood taper”, which means it’s a low taper cut with some lived-in texture. Acord told GQ: “The high taper cuts that have been popular recently have a lot of length or heavy overlay on top,” he explained for context, “but this cut sits low, so there is fullness and balance to the sides and back. The hair is meant to be swept back, as if it melts that way.” At the heart of grooming brand V76 are four distinct categories: Well Groomed, Boldly Barbered, Face Forward and Gifted Man, each one distinguished to celebrate the diversity of men’s grooming and promote the idea that, “It has never been more OK to care about how you look.” Acord says, “V76 by Vaughn is a full men’s grooming line, empowering guys everywhere to look their best. When we do, we feel better, we perform better. Being part of this strong global awareness and factoring in my lifetime of experience helps understanding of the growing men’s market, and the vision of our brand.”

Award-winning grooming brand men-ü have released their new range

Men’s grooming brand, men-ü is the latest male orientated product range to storm the market. Men-ü are a revolutionary line of high performance, ultra concentrate products and believe that a little goes a long way! They dedicate their time shaping the perfect formula that uses the finest ingredients. All of their products fit neatly in the hand and into a man’s lifestyle, bathroom, sports or travel bag. Their brand new products focus on styling hair professionally and conveniently, and also address the issue of loss of hair. Losing your hair can be a major worry for men of all ages and a sensitive issue to talk about. Lloyd Hughes, Creative Director of male grooming brand men-ü and a multi salon owner comments on how to help thinning hair with the right cut, styling product and washing your hair. “Speak to your hair stylist about a strong, tall, lean and masculine cut with a square shape. This will take the focus away from the lack of density in the upper regions” says Lloyd. The key is keep your top layers at no more than 3 inches in length to keep in line with the strong masculine shape created through the sides. Lloyd notes that “products such as traditional pomades will weigh the hair down and flatten to your head, again exposing more scalp than we would like, as well as losing that strong masculine shape.” It’s important to invest time in researching a product that works for you and not buying a one size fits all product off the shelf. The men-ü hair product LIQUIFFLEX liquefies in the hand, enabling even distribution, coating and swelling each hair strand. The result is a fuller shape that shows the good side of the hair you have and not highlighting the areas where you have less Shampoo and conditioner is often overlooked in a men’s grooming routine but can have a huge impact on thinning hair. Hair washing is essential to stronger and healthier hair growth. In a nutshell, it’s all about the scalp. Lloyd explains that “the sebaceous glands beneath the scalp secrete oil onto the surface, denying the hair shaft a clean healthy environment to grow and flourish. The hair shaft becomes weaker, eventually snapping off, in technical terms this is known as shedding.” Use a quality shampoo such as the men-ü daily refresh shampoo and daily moisturising conditioner developed and designed to specifically combat the issues that directly affect men.
