Brentwood Preparatory School's World Book Day 2019 Pictures are Adorable
Take a look at the pictures from Brentwood Preparatory School's World Book Day 2019...
For the 22nd year, a range of Essex schools have taken part in World Book Day - aiming to encourage children to read and bring their favourite characters to life. The charity has been sending out packs of Book Tokens and age-ranged resource packs to provide inspiration and ideas of how to get involved in the fun-packed day.
The event has had worldwide attraction with over 100 countries taking part, it has even been recognised by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading.
Brentwood Preparatory School have released an array of (adorable) images of their pupils, sixth form students and teachers who have taken part in the annual event.
From Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to Wally, the children certainly let their imaginations loose when coming up with their choice of character and costume.
Coincided with the school's House Reading Competition, Brentwood School welcomed special guest and author Anne Stairmand with reading and writing workshops. Each of the four Prep House's chose their favourite book as their costume theme: Bayman chose Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. At the Senior School, pupils entered a competition for prizes and made their own bookmarks in the library at lunchtime.
Miss Claudia Martin, Brentwood School Charities Coordinator, said: “Once again I am overwhelmed by the efforts of our pupils and staff and would like to thank them all for their entertaining and creative contributions to this worthwhile cause.”
