Christmas Spirit The Short Film: A Must-Watch
Move aside John Lewis, this Christmas film is a proper tear-jerker...
Christmas is a time for love, surrounding yourself with those closest to you and spoiling one another. But have you ever taken a moment to step back and think about those who are less fortunate than yourselves at this time of the year?
Christmas Spirit is a heartbreaking short film that has been crafted to produce a beautifully melancholic yet ultimately uplifting Christmas film, and it's guaranteed to leave a lump in your throat.
Working in conjunction with the charity Cruse Bereavement Care, the short film was directed by Andy Delaney (Love is Blind), written by Rich With and produced by Jo Farrugia, Andy and Rich (all Leigh-on-Sea locals) and stars Curtis Flowers and introduces Bert Davis as ‘The Boy’.
Filmed beautifully, written with emotion and shot in our very own Leigh-on-Sea, this truly is a must-watch over the Christmas period - it will make you feel overly grateful for the loved ones in your life.
The full cast also includes Charles Sharman-Cox, Olivia Sawbridge, Rachel Beauchamp, Dylan Tate and Jamie-Lee Pike and features music by local artists MG Boulter and Asylums and Matthew Halsall.
Rich says: “Obviously Christmas is a time for celebration, but for many of us it’s also a time of reflection as we look back at the loved ones we have lost throughout the year. It’s perhaps not remarkable that many of us have lost someone we care deeply for at Christmas time. This film is for anyone who can resonate with that.”
The impressive amount of views and shares the Facebook video has recieved so far speaks for itself and has already raised a total of £370 via the video alone.
You can also catch a live screening of the film on Southend-on-Sea's Big Screen, Focal Point Gallery, from 12 - 1pm on Friday 20th December until Sunday 29th December.
