Cirque du Soleil OVO at London’s Royal Albert Hall

Full of wonder and entertainment, Cirque du Soleil’s OVO gets underway at the iconic Royal Albert Hall…

This dazzling colourful carnival of crazy crickets, amazing ants and flexible fleas, uncovers the natural world for all the family to enjoy. Rush headlong into an ecosystem teeming with life, where insects work, eat, crawl, flutter, play, fight and love.  Hosted at London’s prestigious venue Royal Albert Hall, this show is  perfect for the whole family!

The set-up introduces a foolish fly who is carrying a huge egg (hence the show title) and falls for a coquettish ladybug. A kalaedoscopic array of insect and bug life interacts with the prat-falling pair, punctuated with ever more daring feats of spectacular virtuosity from the word-class cast. British gymnastics European Champion Alanna Baker flies the home flag as the PVC-clad Black Spider but it is impossible to choose a favourite from the irresistible insect invasion.

An Evening with Ant Middleton at Palace Theatre

Survival and military expert, Ant Middleton share his stories at Palace Theatre… On Sunday 7th January 2018, SAS: Who Dares Wins returned for its third series, with real life action heroes and ex-military personnel putting civilian contestants through a physically and mentally demanding army style training. The Chief Instructor behind the hit TV series, Ant Middleton, is a survival expert and ex elite forces soldier, and will be touring theatres across the UK in Spring 2018, most notably stopping at Southend’s Palace Theatre for one of their brilliant celebrity nights. For one night only, Middleton will be sharing his life threatening exploits and the demanding challenges that have shaped him into the resilient and mentally strong person that he is. Having found fame via Channel 4’s SAS: Who Dares Wins, Middleton displays his tough cookie appetite for adventure and survival. Set in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco, the show has Middleton put recruits through a series of extreme, high-pressure tasks, including jumping from a moving helicopter into a lake and crawling across a vast canyon on a tightrope. This series, twins Chris and Matt, a gym owner and a gym manager from Essex, are currently taking part in the show. In the first episode on Sunday 7th January, the brothers from Romford took part in a boxing match, testing their combat abilities in, self-defence and animal instinct. Over the course of 9 days, contestants will be tested to breaking point – who will be the last man standing? Ant Middleton, Chief Instructor in SAS: Who Dares Wins. Photo credit: Channel 4
