Essex Shoe Designer Reveals Pastel Flats Perfect For Spring
Vanessa Shoes offers designer shoes in Essex, including these pretty pastel colours - a 2019 top trend
If you're looking for designer shoes in Essex, look no further than Vanessa Shoes. Based in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex shoe designer Vanessa Townshed has transformed the RACHEL loafer, in keeping with Spring's must-wear pretty pastels trend.
Vanessa said she turned to pastel colours such as camel, sky blue and a light Barbie pink, to give a masculine shoe a feminine twist.
Marc Jacobs kicked off the pretty pastels spring/summer 2019 trend back in September, and these Essex designer shoes celebrate the trend.
“I research colour trends for each season but I’m also drawn to colours I like,” Vanessa revealed to Exquisite, explaining her choice of opting for pastel colours for her designer shoes.
On the red carpet, pastels have reigned as Lady Gaga followed Marc Jacobs' lead by colouring her hair the same pale blue as her gown. Both Dakota Fanning and Alison Brie selected ice blue. And Emma Stone’s Louis Vuitton dress was pastel peach - the perfect base for its silver embellishment.
Townshend transformed the £145 RACHEL loafers as the runway pointed towards pastels’ femininity.
“I wanted to give a feminine twist to a masculine shoe,” Vanessa said. “So using soft kid suede in pastel colours gives the shoe a pretty, chic, elegant look.”
RACHEL – in honour of model Rachel Hunter – takes on the tasselled loafer silhouette, usually associated with male footwear.
The tassel loafer first originated in the 1940s when Hungarian actor Paul Lukas asked shoemakers to design tasselled Oxford style loafers he’s seen in Europe. Then in the 1950s, American shoe maker, Alden Shoe Company, released the first tasselled loafer. Ever since, the dressy tassel loafer has continued to gain popularity and is regarded as both elegant and comfortable.
But through the Essex shoe designer’s eyes, the RACHEL loafer evokes strength with a pointed toe, geek-chic with the tassels, the pastels feminine elegance and the ease of a flat shoe.
