The Essex Game and Country Fair

The Essex Game and Country Fair is a perfect family day out. Taking place at Barleylands, Billericay, on 6th-7th October 2018, families are welcome to participate in a wide range of activities including horse-boarding, shooting, chainsaw carving, bouncy castles and so much more!

Three main areas are supported by a wide range of smaller stalls and workshops, offering plenty of entertainment suited for the whole family.

National Garden Scheme: Feeringbury Manor

The land of Feeringbury Manor has quite a history having been previously owned by William the Conqueror. Parts of the house date back to as early as 1500, ensuring its reputation as one of Essex’s most ancient but treasured residences. Surrounded by wonderful gardens, filled with rows of bright flowers, open space, and secluded woodland, Feeringbury Manor provides a relaxing experience. The Forgotten Gardens of Easton Lodge Opening Day: Halloween

Come and see the Halloween twist at the Easton Lodge gardens on the 14th October. The day promises to keep children entertained with a variety of spooky activities and there will be refreshment stalls throughout to keep those tummies full!

Do you want access to the best local bands in the county? If so, then Cozfest18 is for you! Set in open countryside, the event will feature live music, a beer tent, a host of activities and competitions and refreshment stalls. Also, the fans of Band Wars will be treated to seeing the finale live at the event on 8th September. Taking place at Sible Hedingham, the festival is fun for the whole family.

Visit the Vulcan Day

Taking place at London Southend Airport, on 16th September, the Visit the Vulcan Day is an exciting day for all aviation lovers. Visitors have the opportunity to see the former RAF bomber Avro Vulcan XL426 with a guided tour and the chance to get inside the infamous cockpit! Other aircraft cockpits will be available to see and with a brass band playing in the background, families will be transported back to the 1940’s. Refreshments and free parking are available to all.

Garg’s Animal Show at Cammas Hall

Garg’s Animal Show is a brilliant day for children to get up close and personal with some animals. Expect to learn lots, with staff giving talks about our animal friends and what makes them so special. Running across three days this September, there is no excuse to miss this one!

Day Out with Thomas

Every child’s favourite train is back at Colne Valley railway, Castle Hedingham, this autumn. Visitors can see Thomas and his friends and take part in a wide range of fun activities. These include train rides, getting temporary tattoos, children’s games and an opportunity to meet Sir Topham Hatt, the Fat Controller. A souvenir shop is available and refreshments are available throughout the day. A Day Out with Thomas is running on the 22nd, 23rd, 29th and 30th September.

Peppa Pig

Peppa Pig and friends are back at Colne Valley Railway, Castle Hedingham, for a one-time, exclusive event on the 9th September. She will be making several appearances throughout the day to meet and greet some of Essex’s biggest fans before they go back to school! In a day that will bring plenty of laughs and joy, this will be a family day out to remember. Why not buy some peppa pig souvenirs from the souvenir shop to mark the occasion? The times are 10.30-17.00 but the last admission is at 15.00.

Films Under Stars

Want to see some of the world of cinema's great classics? With a host of films being shown in autumn including Pretty Woman, Pitch Perfect, The Notebook and The Exorcist, the event promises to be a cozy night out for couples and film lovers. Food and drinks will be available to purchase but visitors are welcome to bring their own. Taking place at Cromwell Manor, Pitsea, films begin at sunset - enjoy a romantic evening this autumn.

Outdoor film showings are becoming increasingly popular, especially in London. Check out your favourite Movies on the River Thames soon!

Coffee and Classic Cars at the Museum of Power

Bring your car to the Museum of Power for a spectacular gathering of cars and car enthusiasts. On the 23rd September 2018 and 28th October 2018, visitors are welcome to this social occasion of like-minded people. The steam pump tea room will be serving hot breakfast and tea for visitors and refreshments readily available. Running from 9am-1pm.
