Food Review: Enjoy Classically British Dishes at The Star Inn Ingatestone
Steeped in history, the charming pub serves classic British dishes with a twist...
The Star Inn is a rustic, old gastropub with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, rich history, wonderful food and fantastic events. Dating back to the 15th century, The Star Inn has a colourful past seeping through its walls. The venue started out as a private residence and was transformed into a pub in 1631. Today, the charming village setting perfectly showcases the hearty, gastronomic pub experience that the owner, Liz Haines, offers at The Star Inn.
Inside, the interiors still reflect some of the stunning traditional decor and boasts rich wooden floors and beams, plush leather armchairs and a large brick fireplace, all complimenting the pub’s cosy feel. There are plenty of options for families, friends and couples at The Star Inn and the menus incorporate classic British dishes with a creative and contemporary twist.
There are a range of menus to choose from depending on the occasion, including a Sunday Lunch menu, Spanish Tapas menu, Lunchtime menu, Daily Specials menu, Main menu and a Gluten Free menu. When it comes to selecting a drink, visitors are spoilt for choice, with an extensive gin selection that is arguably, the best in Essex.
