Kube Kitchens are currently completing and installing their bespoke kitchens in the elegant King’s Library apartments in Chelsea, London.
Uniting contemporary design with large open plan living, idiosyncratic terraces, galleries, high ceilings and breath-taking views of Chelsea’s gardens, these luxurious Edwardian apartments are the perfect project for Kube Kitchens. To compliment the classic architecture of the building, Kube are combining natural aesthetics, modern design and the most exquisite detail; exemplifying the pinnacle of modern day open plan living.
It is no wonder then that Kube Kitchens were presented the ‘Global Kitchen Design’ award by the renowned German kitchen innovators, Leicht, for this gorgeous Chelsea renovation.
On the back of winning a Leicht award, Kube Kitchens were given the opportunity to work on the St. Hilda’s development in Chalkwell.
This former private school has been transformed into fourteen apartments and four brand new townhouses and all have been fitted with contemporary Leicht kitchens that are designed by Kube. Ensuring both comfort and quality, the kitchens feature integrated architectural lighting, quartz worktops and the latest smart appliances from Siemens, bringing fresh, modern living to this prestigious neighbourhood.
Located just a stone’s throw away from the seafront, St. Hilda’s is a secluded haven, ideal for enjoying everything the area has to offer: fresh coastal air, a lively urban scene and stimulating local culture.
Kube Kitchens were handed the task of creating a sleek, modern kitchen within the extension of a large family home in Westcliff-on-Sea; we take a look at the finished project…
Before the installation began, Senior Designer Shane Tierney, made a personal visit to the customer’s home; to understand what was achievable with the space that was available. It also gave Shane the opportunity to listen to the taste and preferences of the customers, developing ideas based on their feedback. The homeowners made it clear they enjoyed eating as a family and entertaining friends regularly, so, when it came to the kitchen’s function, their priority was to have an environment that was tailored for socialising but also sufficient for family cooking and dining.
With this brief, design features such as the colour scheme, island position and storage solutions were meticulously considered to optimise the large open plan space, creating a comforting atmosphere within the kitchen extension.
The designer, Shane, had to be very clever and creative when it came to the specification of the appliances that the client had stipulated, as some items were very large and needed to fit into this modest space.
For example, the extra-large island unit in the centre of the room was designed to effortlessly function as a space for preparation, cooking appliances and a generous seating area for family dining. To achieve this, the island incorporates a split between the Lime Oak finished breakfast bar, the Silestone Blanco Zeus worktop and smart cooking appliances, making it the centerpiece of the room.
This chic kitchen may be small in proportion but is big on style and fuses form and function to absolute perfection. Hidden storage is in abundance with additional space smartly tucked away within the island, ensuring that surfaces are kept free from clutter.
In terms of style, the stunning handless kitchen units come in a two tone blend of alpine grey and frosty white high-gloss glass, making the kitchen sleek, visually stunning and most importantly a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
Furthermore, one of Kube Kitchen trademarks is their flair for finishing touches and this renovation was no exception. To add that magical touch, Kube fitted a coffee machine and a wooden swing feature for the daughter of the customers, which are both no doubt, very entertaining for friends and family!
