"The Tudor’s Restaurant menu was full of intriguing, tempting dishes making our decisions difficult. We wanted it all!
The introductory amuse bouche awoke our tastebuds. My starter of mackerel with wonderfully crispy skin was accompanied by juicy fresh tomato undercut with coriander - delicious. Mr Exquisite opted for the scallops which looked stunning and were enhanced by summer flavours of pepper, tomato and beetroot.
Onto the main courses, and my exciting mix of robust quail and delicate lobster. The lobster foam was surprisingly full of flavour adding an extra layer to an exquisite dish. Mr Exquisite’s rack of juicy, pink lamb was perfectly accompanied by fresh, zingy peas. The colours were so appealing.
The desserts definitely had the wow factor. I had been unsure about the idea of basil sorbet, but one taste shattered my preconceptions. It was a stand-out surprise hit. Mr Exquisite’s honeycomb dish looked stunning. It was not sickly sweet, just delicious.
It’s not just the setting of Marygreen Manor that is memorable and impressive, the food is too."
