"We were thrilled to be invited back to Galvin Green Man, especially after their latest Catey award for Best Pub & Bar in 2019. We started the meal with our favourite Scotch egg. The sausage meat was succulent and flavoursome, and the delicate coating gave the ideal texture and crunch. The egg yolk oozed perfectly onto the accompaniment of watercress and pickles.
For main, Mr Exquisite opted for the traditional fish and chips. The chips were perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside, softly airy in the middle – the perfect texture combination. The batter was light and crispy, paired with a zesty tartar sauce and crunchy mushy peas. I chose the smoked chicken vol au vent, a hearty dish with a rich sauce and melt-in-the-mouth puff pastry.
To finish, we shared the chocolate mousse which was perfectly smooth and not too sickly. Our dining experience at Galvin Green Man was as enjoyable as ever!"
