Keith Flint was born in Redbridge, London on 17th September 1969 before moving to Springfield, Essex in the mid-1970s.
Flint attended the Boswells School in Chelmsford before moving to Braintree where he would meet DJ, Liam Howlett at a rave club the Barn. Keith suggested that he and his friend Leeroy Thornhill would dance to Howlett's music before sining in the groups hit track, Firestarter.
The group enjoyed great success releasing 7 studio albums and won a host of award including a Brit for Best British Dance Act in 1997 and were nominated for two Grammy Awards.
Tributes have poured in from all over the world on social media with Jo Whiley posting on Twitter: "Oh this is sad news. The death of Keith Flint. Whenever our paths crossed he was an absolute sweetheart. Really lovely. Incredible iconic frontman with a soft centre. 😓#RIPKeithFlint"
The Prodigy have also released a statement on Twitter saying: "It is with deepest shock and sadness that we can confirm the death of our brother and best friend Keith Flint. A true pioneer, innovator and legend. He will be forever missed.
