This is your opportunity to demonstrate that you are ambitious about higher education and realise the process of studying and completing a degree.
Top grades are not everything
Aside from showing that you meet the entry requirements, express you have an in depth knowledge of what you will be studying and have the right amount of self-determination that degree level requires. You may want to discuss how you have recently completed a project that displays these skills.
How does this field affect your life?
You need to express that this course or field is not just an academic chore but something you are genuinely interested in outside of education. Be personal and show that you are passionate about your subject area, displaying any relevant long term goals you have.
Brag about your qualities
If you are an extrovert or introvert, bragging about your qualities will not cause you any harm. Make it humorous and give examples that you are a sociable person who has the capability to work independently, solve problems and be a leader.
It’s ok to not be 100% certain on your future but remember to explain how you hope to pursue a career in this field. Discuss your dreams and aspirations and win them over with charm. Personal statements will be written, dissected by parents and teachers, rewritten again, and will take up a great deal of time in between studying one’s A-Levels. Get it right and you have a great chance of being accepted into your top choice university!
