Whilst we do love to go out-out and enjoy an ice cold glass of gin and tonic with friends, some days there is nothing better than sitting back on your own sofa for a Netflix and chilled glass of gin session. Fortunately for us gin-lovers, Waitrose has launched an at-home gin-tasting session. Sample five different gins and receive expert advice on how to make the perfect G&T.
If you like your gin to be fruity, you simply must try the offering from Tiptree, the world-renowned local fruit farmers from Essex. Hand-picked local fruits such as strawberries, rhubarb, raspberries and damsons from the Tiptree farm are combined with locally-made Hayman gin to produce a beautifully sweet, fruity drink. The Hayman family has been distilling gin since the 19th century and they still produce each small batch in their artisanal copper still named 'Marjorie' after Grandmother Hayman.
Slamsey's gin is another local gin brand to look out for. The fruits are grown on the farm in Braintree and hand-selected by Beth. They gently infuse in quality gin to produce Slamsey's fruit liquers. Their Marmalade Gin is infused with Seville oranges to produce a unique, zesty taste which really brings your gin and tonic to life.
