Oaklands School’s mission is to offer a high standard of education and a broad curriculum within a happy, secure and disciplined environment.
The unique character and spirit of Oaklands is its most valuable asset. Within an atmosphere of warmth, friendliness and openness and through our unique setting and traditional family approach, we encourage all pupils in independent thought, creativity, curiosity and love of learning. We believe that all our children should experience equal opportunities through a broad education that aims for excellence.
We believe that praise is important and that every child should feel valued. We teach respect for others and our surroundings and understanding of right and wrong, so that our pupils may become valued members of the community. Our shared purpose is to enable children to fulfil their potential by working together for the benefit of each other.
Oaklands School is a privately-owned, independent preparatory day school for boys and girls aged two and a half to 11 in Loughton.
Teaching methods combine the traditional and the modern to provide a stimulating and creative learning environment where children have access to highly qualified professionals who teach with flair and sensitivity. Academically, children are encouraged to aim high and to have confidence to learn new skills and interests.
The broad range of activities both inside and outside the classroom provide a rich environment where children can discover hidden aptitudes and talents. Emphasis is placed on the acquisition of social skills and respect and consideration for others are encouraged at all times.
