Weight Loss - More and more people are becoming overweight, as the calories they consume are not used up through exercise and everyday life. These unused calories are stored in our body as fat. We offer four operations - these are Gastric Banding, Sleeve Gastrectomy, Gastric Ballooning and Gastric Bypass. All of these procedures work by reducing the actual size (Sleeve Gastrectomy) or effectively reducing the capacity (Gastric Banding) size of the stomach, thus reducing the amount of food eaten at mealtimes. The main difference between the procedures is that the gastric band is adjustable and also potentially reversible, the balloon is removable, whereas the Sleeve Gastrectomy and Gastric Bypass permanently reduces stomach size and capacity.
